Why I'm doing this
MY STORY
I'm Andrew Galbus, and I'm racing toward one of the hardest goals in endurance sports: qualifying for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
This race is for my father, Warren Galbus. He died of Lewy Body disease. He lived 10 years with it, his memory getting worse over time until eventually he couldn't talk and didn't appear to know me. No family should have to watch someone they love disappear like that.
That's why I'm raising $5,000 for dementia research. Every early-morning workout, every hard mile, and every race is my way of turning sweat into hope — for my dad, and for every family walking a similar road.
